Job summary

Eaton seeks a Lead Data Center Controls Engineer – Power Systems to lead design, development, testing, and implementation of power protection and control solutions for hyperscale data centers. You will work with PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, relays, and data concentrators, driving projects from concept to site acceptance, with ~30% travel.

Strong background in medium-voltage protection, IEC 61850 systems, relay testing, cybersecurity, and coordination with PMs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• 7+ years of controls experience in power distribution applications; travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of data center power control projects including design, engineering, software development, simulation, testing, and site support.
• Plan projects with PMs and engineering teams; develop schedules, FDES, sequences, I/O lists, and network architecture.
• Provide technical leadership, coordinate resources, ensure documentation quality, maintain project records.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations to ensure readiness and capability for project execution.
• Mentor engineers, drive standardization, and provide performance feedback to the team.
