Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) division seeks a Lead Data Center Controls Engineer – Power Systems to lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of protection and control solutions for hyperscale data centers.

You will work with PLCs, RTUs, automation controllers, HMIs, protective relays, and data concentrators from major OEMs, collaborating across teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power systems. Travel up to 30% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7+ years of controls experience in power distribution.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.
• Valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Master's degree or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of data center power control projects, including design, engineering, software development, simulation, factory testing, site acceptance testing, and support for customer emergencies.
• Drive project planning and delivery with project managers and engineering teams to develop schedules, resource plans, FDDs, sequences of operation, I/O lists, and network architecture.
• Provide technical and organizational leadership by assigning work, coordinating resources, ensuring documentation quality, and maintaining project records.
• Support proposals with Negotiation Application Engineers and ensure training and readiness among operations.
• Advance organizational excellence by standardization, mentoring, and feedback.
