Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Lead Data Center Controls Engineer – Power Systems to design, develop, test, and implement protection and control solutions for hyperscale data centers. You will lead software development, factory testing, and site acceptance testing, while coordinating with PMs and engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in power distribution controls and IEC 61850 experience, with a willingness to travel up to 30% and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with 7+ years of controls experience in power distribution applications OR a Master’s degree with at least 5 years’ of experience.
• Available to travel 30% of the time.
• Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy; valid license and clean MVR required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of data center power control projects from design to site testing and customer support.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and engineering teams to develop schedules, FIOs, and network architecture.
• Provide technical and organizational leadership, assign work, ensure documentation quality, and maintain project records.
• Collaborate with Negotiation Application Engineers on proposals and with Operations leaders on resources and readiness.
• Drive standardization, mentor engineers, and provide feedback on performance.
