Job summary

Ericsson Inc. is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport in customer data centers and co-locations.

You will interface with customers and vendors, ensure high quality execution, and travel up to 50% for weeks at a time as needed. The role requires hands-on expertise in fiber optics, optical testing, and a proactive approach to safety and operational best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center ops or similar technical environment with customer interaction.
• Strong hands-on experience with fiber optic cabling (single/multi-mode).
• Experience leading teams and communicating with customers.

Responsibilities

• Audit work at customer data centers and provide feedback to technicians.
• Interact with customers and provide clear reports and updates.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, and migrations.
