Job summary

Intuit is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Privacy & Data Governance to lead data governance strategy across our data-driven products. You will partner with Privacy Regulatory Compliance, product, engineering, and legal teams to ensure compliant, well-governed data flows from the ground up.

You will advise on governance standards, architecture, and controls, translating complex privacy requirements into practical data governance solutions for evolving technologies and AI-enabled products.

Qualifications

• JD and active US State Bar membership.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience with privacy focus.
• Strong knowledge of US state and federal privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, GLBA) and familiarity with GDPR/PIPEDA.
• Experience translating governance frameworks into practical data controls with engineering and product teams.
• Able to partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and legal/compliance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Advise on data governance strategy and controls.
• Partner with Privacy Regulatory Compliance and Product teams to translate requirements into standards and controls.
• Ensure new products and features are designed around compliant, well-governed data flows from the outset.
• Translate privacy-by-design principles to data architectures for evolving tech.
• Lead data governance workstreams (mapping, classification, retention) with engineering and data teams.
• Provide actionable guidance to enable scalable data-driven products.
