Job summary

Intuit invites applications for an Assistant General Counsel, Privacy & Data Governance to lead data governance strategy across our data-driven products, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel for Enterprise Privacy. You will partner with Privacy Regulatory Compliance and product teams to build compliant data flows from inception.

Qualifications

• JD and US State Bar membership required.
• Deep expertise in data governance, including classification, lineage, and lifecycle management.
• Strong knowledge of US privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, GLBA) and familiarity with GDPR.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into data governance and product architecture.
• Proven cross-functional partnership with product, engineering, and legal/compliance teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Intuit’s data governance expert advising partners on data classification, lineage, quality, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Privacy Regulatory Compliance to translate requirements into governance standards and controls.
• Work with product, tech, and counsel teams to ensure compliant, well-governed data flows from design onwards.
• Apply privacy-by-design principles to data architectures and technologies.
• Lead data governance workstreams like data mapping and retention in partnership with engineering and data platforms.
• Advise cross-functional teams to scale data-driven product initiatives responsibly.
• Stay current on data governance trends and AI data usage and translate them into scalable approaches.
