Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to lead on-site construction across multiple homes from permit to occupancy. You will coordinate subcontractors, ensure strict adherence to plans and codes, and deliver a quality product on schedule while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction.

The role requires extensive site management experience, strong communication, and the ability to drive projects in a dynamic homebuilding environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Experience managing multiple homes from permit to occupancy and budget control.
• Willingness to drive between designated communities day and night.
• Proficiency with MS Office and e-mail; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure the highest quality product is delivered on time and within budget.
• Schedule subcontractors for each phase and ensure workmanship meets codes and standards.
• Complete each home site from planning through occupancy and satisfy contract obligations.
• Inspect subcontractor work, halt noncompliant work, and ensure quality.
• Authorize subcontractor payments after inspection and receipt of materials.
• Manage the customer experience throughout construction and provide regular progress updates.
• Maintain site cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal during construction.
• Oversee post-close warranty processes and schedule necessary follow-up with subcontractors.
• Communicate with sales and management to resolve issues proactively.
• Stay current with applicable building codes and regulations.
• Work extra hours as necessary to meet business needs.
