Job summary

ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services company, seeks an IT Configuration Manager to drive CMDB governance across enterprise IT in a federal environment. You will ensure accurate configuration items, baselines, and drift prevention to support critical IT services.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to enable incident, problem, and change processes, while delivering actionable configuration insights that improve risk assessment and service restoration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in configuration management, CMDB administration, or ITSM roles supporting enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with CMDB/data governance tools like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the CMDB data model, class structures, and relationship mappings.
• Enforce CM policies, naming conventions, and ITIL-aligned procedures.
• Integrate CMDB data with change, incident, and problem workflows for impact analysis and risk assessment.
• Conduct configuration audits, reconciliations, and baseline reviews to ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with platform admins to implement CMDB capabilities in ServiceNow and related tools.
• Produce reports and visualizations supporting capacity planning and compliance in regulated environments.
• Coordinate CMDB activities with other ITIL processes across lifecycle stages.
• Lead or contribute to CMDB projects across hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.
