Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking an IT Configuration Manager to direct configuration management across enterprise IT environments in a federal setting. You will oversee CMDB design, governance, and data integrity to support incident, change, and problem management.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years in configuration management, and hands‑on experience with ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience in configuration management, CMDB administration, or related IT service management roles.
Strong understanding of CM principles, ITIL guidance, and related tools.
Proven ability to lead configuration initiatives and manage competing priorities.
Experience with infrastructure, application, and security teams and with data governance.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain CMDB data model, class structures, and relationships.
Establish and enforce CMDB policies, naming conventions, and ITIL-aligned procedures.
Integrate CMDB data with change, incident, and problem workflows for impact analysis.
Conduct regular configuration audits and remediation activities with owning teams.
Collaborate with platform admins to implement CMDB capabilities in ServiceNow or similar tools.
Produce reports and visualizations to support risk assessments and capacity planning.
Coordinate with ITIL processes to keep configuration data up to date through the lifecycle.
Lead CMDB implementation and remediation across hybrid environments.
