Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking an IT Configuration Manager to lead configuration management across enterprise IT environments in a federal setting. You will design and maintain CMDB structures, establish policies, and integrate CMDB with change, incident, and problem workflows to enable accurate impact analysis and rapid fault isolation.

You will work with platform administrators to implement CMDB capabilities in ServiceNow and ensure data quality across hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in configuration management, CMDB admin, or ITSM roles.
• Strong understanding of CM principles, ITIL, and related tools.
• Ability to lead initiatives and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with IT teams.
• Proficiency with Office Suite for documenting processes and reports.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the CMDB data model, structures, and relationship mappings for infrastructure and application CIs.
• Establish and enforce CM policies, procedures, and naming conventions per ITIL and standards.
• Integrate CM data with change, incident, and problem workflows for impact analysis and fast fault isolation.
• Conduct regular configuration audits, revisions, and baseline reviews to ensure data quality and remediation.
• Collaborate with platform admins to implement CMDB in ServiceNow, including discovery, service mapping, and normalization.
• Produce reports and visuals to support capacity planning, risk assessments, architecture reviews, and compliance.
• Coordinate with change, incident, and release management to keep CM data accurate across the lifecycle.
• Lead or contribute to CMDB implementations and remediation in hybrid environments.
