Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations, using data analytics and Lean methods to raise safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

The role interfaces with all levels, may supervise CI staff, coordinates with General Manager/Director, manages CI projects, designs and implements improvements, and supports automation initiatives within warehousing and transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• 7+ years of related experience in warehousing/transportation and/or manufacturing.
• Expert-level Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience with data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and SQL/DAX.
• Knowledge of Lean methods (PDCA, VSM, Kaizen) and standard work.
• Advanced understanding of engineering/data analysis functions (slotting, labor planning, metrics).

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and identifies gaps.
• Leads high-impact CI projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Coaches employees in CI, QA, and Lean principles; may supervise CI staff.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; supports cross-functional teams.
• Provides regular data-driven progress reports and recommends inventory/SC strategies.
