Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations. You will lead data-driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• 7+ years in related operations experience in warehousing/transportation and/or manufacturing.
• MS Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio (expert).
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and SQL/DAX knowledge (intermediate).
• Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management, PDCA, VSM, Kaizen, 5S (intermediate).
• Core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics).
• Knowledge of CAD, Slot3D, MOST, Manhattan Scale, and Labor Mgt. Systems (advanced).
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management, automation, and lean methods (advanced).
• Lean Six Sigma and related certifications (required).
• APICS / supply chain certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; documents processes and identifies gaps; develops and executes CI transformation plans.
• Manages high-impact CI projects; supports start-ups, retrofits, and expansions; interfaces with account management/customers.
• Demonstrates expertise in Lean tools and QA/CI principles; coaches others in CI, QA, Lean.
• Supervises CI engineering/quality professionals; participates in hiring and performance management.
• Leads Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events; coaches on lean methods to achieve operational excellence.
• Provides regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives; makes supply chain strategy recommendations.
