Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across warehousing and transportation operations using data analytics and Lean methods to raise safety, quality, delivery and cost performance.

This high-influence role leads CI projects, coaches teams, and collaborates with management to deliver sustained results. Travel up to 10–15% is required, with a strong background in engineering and data tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• 7+ years in related warehousing and/or transportation and/or manufacturing.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) is required with emphasis on Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and identifies gaps for CI.
• Manages high impact CI projects; supports start-ups, retrofits and expansions; engages with account management.
• Coaches employees on CI, QA & Lean principles and applies PM, value stream mapping and Kaizen events.
• May supervise CI engineers and QA professionals; participates in hiring and performance decisions.
• Provides regular data-driven progress reports and makes supply chain strategy recommendations.
• Designs and implements quality systems and standardized corrective actions.
