Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to advance continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing, transportation, and manufacturing operations. You will identify, lead, and drive change using data analytics, lean tools, and engineering methods to boost safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

You will supervise CI resources as needed and collaborate with senior operations leaders to sustain improvements and deliver measurable results across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field with related experience in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• 7+ years of related work experience; MBA with undergrad in engineering acceptable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau).
• Data visualization and database programming (SQL, DAX) is preferred.
• Strong Lean Six Sigma foundation and experience with PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen.
• Advanced knowledge of core engineering/data analysis (slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics).

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact CI projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.
• Drive cross-functional CI initiatives and mentor others in lean methods.
• Perform data-driven analyses to identify root causes and drive sustainable improvements.
• Coordinate with CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager and interface with General Manager or Director of Operations.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and Value Stream Maps; support automation projects.
