Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations. You will lead data-driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts to boost safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

Interface with multiple levels and functions and may supervise CI resources under the CI Manager. This role requires expertise in Lean tools, root-cause analysis, process optimization, and cross-functional leadership to deliver sustained results across warehousing and transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Master’s degree with 5+ years in related field; MBA requires undergraduate Engineering.
• Strong MS Office skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) are essential.
• Data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau) and SQL/DAX experience preferred.
• Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, and Value Stream Mapping knowledge required.
• Experience leading cross-functional CI projects and managing CI teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps and documents processes; identifies gaps and builds CI plans.
• Leads high-impact CI projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
• Coaches teams in lean methods and CI tools; supports automation and facility improvements.
• Supervises CI/Quality professionals and participates in hiring and performance reviews.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events, sustaining improvements.
• Delivers regular progress reports and recommended inventory/supply chain strategies.
