Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations. You will lead data-driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts to boost safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

The role interfaces with all levels and may manage CI resources, reporting to the CI Manager and aligning with a General Manager or Director of Operations. Expect to apply lean tools, perform analysis, and coach teams to sustain improvements while collaborating with account

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain with 7+ years of related experience; or Master’s in IE/Business/Supply Chain with 5+ years; MBA option.
7+ years in Warehousing, Transportation and/or Manufacturing.
MS Office suite with Access/Excel/PowerPoint/Visio; strong data analysis.
PowerBI/Tableau data visualization and SQL/DAX experience.
Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Lean methods.

Responsibilities

Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes; identifies gaps and implements CI plans.
Leads high-impact CI projects across the operation to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
Coaches on lean methods; applies product slotting, labor standards studies, flow optimization, data profiling, and resource modeling.
Supervises CI engineering and quality staff; participates in hiring and performance management.
Facilitates Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events; sustains improvements.
