Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations using data-driven CI, engineering and automation. You will identify gaps, lead change and deliver higher performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.

Responsibilities include collecting data, executing high-impact CI initiatives, coaching teams in Lean and QA, and facilitating Kaizen events. Regular reporting to CI leadership and collaboration with General Manager/Director of Operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field with 7+ years of experience in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing
• Master's degree holders with 5+ years of experience acceptable; MBA if MBA, then undergrad in Engineering
• Proficiency in MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and data visualization tools (PowerBI/Tableau)
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events
• Knowledge of warehouse management, automation, slotting, layouts and workflow optimization

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis to identify process gaps and drive value
• Manages high-impact CI projects across the operation
• Coaches teams in CI, QA and Lean principles; may supervise CI engineers
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events from ideation to sustainment
• Delivers regular progress reports and makes supply chain strategy recommendations
• Supports regulatory compliance and quality management systems
