Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking an experienced #1 Lead Bindery Operator for our print production team in Eagan, Minnesota. You will lead the bindery line, direct a crew, and drive process improvements through Tier 1 meetings and Gemba Walks.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, training ability, and experience with a range of bindery equipment. 3rd shift hours are 10:30 PM–6:30 AM, with some overtime and weekend shifts; a $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and training others.
• Experience working in an industrial setting with a wide range of production machinery.
• Strong mechanical and technical skills, with troubleshooting and decision-making.
• Experience with Lean and continuous improvement.
• Good communication across shifts and departments.
• Proven track record as a trainer.
• Able to run multiple pieces of equipment.
• Experience as a lead on perfect binders with multiple stations and related lines.
• Able to read, interpret, and explain safety rules and production orders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, work direction, and training to crew to optimize performance.
• Ensure the line runs smoothly and produces a quality product for customers.
• Facilitate Tier 1 meetings and Gemba Walk discussions to drive improvements.
• Train crew members, including temporary staff, to meet workload demands.
• Motivate others and build a team environment.
