Thomson Reuters Foundation in Eagan, MN is seeking a 1st shift Bindery Operator (#3) to perform setup tasks, monitor equipment, and troubleshoot on our Core Publishing Solutions team.

You will handle material specifications, operate complex bindery lines, and ensure product quality while documenting activities and participating in safety programs. The role offers a 6:30 AM–2:30 PM shift with overtime possibilities and a $2,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
• Good mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts and continuous improvement.
• Competent with rulers and measurement tools.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience on perfect binders with up to 40-station collators, 3-knife trimmers, inline boxing, and palletizing.
• Experience with hard-cover casing-in lines, collating or kitting lines with up to 30 streamfeeder stations, packaging or cartooning lines, Sitma mail lines, Aster sewing equipment, and hot foil stampers.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders.
• Able to regularly lift at least 5 lbs. above the shoulder, and occasionally push, pull, and lift at least 10 lbs. up to 50 lbs.
• Able to regularly stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach, and kneel.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toe shoes and ear protection.

Aufgaben

• Review job specifications for material and set-up requirements.
• Perform set-up tasks.
• Monitor equipment and product quality, and obtain maintenance support as needed.
• Perform simple to moderately complex troubleshooting related to product or equipment.
• Communicate effectively during the shift and at shift hand-off.
• Evaluate the mechanical condition of equipment and complete preventative maintenance.
• Use computer-based workflow applications to manage files, as needed.
• Document activities accurately on Tier Boards and in relevant systems (MII, SAP), including material usage and equipment issues.
• Perform feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling, or physical inventory cycle count activities, as needed.
• Actively participate in company safety programs and help build a safe culture.
• Meet or exceed established quality and productivity standards using standard work procedures.
• Generate, implement, and sustain continuous improvement ideas.
• Participate in project teams as needed.
• Provide backup for other operators to cover absences or breaks.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.
