Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a BESS Engineer III to lead the design, development and optimization of battery energy storage systems on nationwide projects. This fully remote role requires strong engineering leadership, a solid BESS background and adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, review studies and specifications, and support proposals and client meetings. Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; master's preferred.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in BESS or power systems.
• Expertise in design and optimization of BESS; including lithium-ion batteries, inverters, BMS, and grid interconnection.
• Knowledge of BESS control strategies and optimization software.
• Proficiency in power system analysis tools (PSSE, PSCAD).
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA and utility standards.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes and guide project teams.
• Lead design and engineering of battery energy storage systems.
• Review feasibility studies and sizing analyses for configurations and future augmentation.
• Coordinate with EPC teams, vendors, and AHJ requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure safety and quality.
