Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage projects. You will provide strategic technical direction, oversee multi-disciplinary design efforts, and ensure safe, compliant system integration across projects.

The role requires deep expertise in BESS components, control strategies, and grid interconnection standards. This is a fully remote position with travel as needed to support project execution and collaboration with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
5+ years electrical engineering focused on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
Expert knowledge of BESS components (lithium-ion, inverters, BMS) and grid interconnection equipment.
PE license preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes and provide guidance to project teams.
Lead design and engineering of battery energy storage systems, ensuring contract and AHJ compliance.
Review feasibility studies, site assessments, and system sizing analyses for optimal configurations.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and contractors to design, procure, install and commission BESS.
Provide engineering support during testing, energization, and initial synchronization.
Mentor junior engineers and stay current with industry standards and safety requirements.
