Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems on nationwide projects.

This remote role requires strong expertise in BESS components, control strategies, and grid interconnection equipment. The successful candidate will manage cross-disciplinary teams, provide technical oversight during procurement, and mentor engineers while supporting safety and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience with focus on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
• Expert knowledge of BESS control strategies, algorithms, and optimization software.
• Proficiency in power system analysis (PSS/E, PSCAD) and simulation tools.
• Technical subject matter expert of NEC, IEEE, IBC, ASCE, NESC, NFPA, utility standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes, guiding project teams.
• Lead design and engineering of battery energy storage systems (BESS) ensuring compliance with contracts, utilities, and AHJ requirements.
• Review feasibility studies, site assessments, and system sizing analyses to optimize configurations.
• Provide engineering oversight during procurement including vendor reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay current with industry standards.
