Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a team, and educate customers on repairs. The role requires strong mechanical experience, ASE certifications, and a customer-focused attitude.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, state inspections license if applicable, and the ability to work days, nights, and weekends. This on-site position includes comprehensive benefits and ASE certification support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications are preferred (A4, A5 plus 2 of: A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have valid driver7s license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brakes, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and required repairs to customers and staff.
• Mentor and lead the shop team to maintain high customer service levels.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training.
• Keep management informed of persistent repair issues and shop conditions.
