Job summary

Pep Boys Inc is seeking a Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, using expertise to guide customers through repairs and solutions. You will lead and mentor a shop team to deliver superior service and educate customers on issues and proposed fixes.

The role requires 3+ years of automotive diagnostic experience, ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license. Availability to work days, evenings, weekends is needed; preventive safety and environmental rules apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance)
• Section 609 certification required
• State Inspection license if applicable
• Valid driver’s license
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications in brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and staff.
• Mentor and lead fellow technicians to improve customer care and shop performance.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training sessions.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop and keep management informed of issues.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
