Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. in Tampa, FL seeks an Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a small team, and deliver excellent customer care.

You will interact with customers, explain issues and solutions, and mentor junior technicians while maintaining a clean, safe shop and adhering to all policies. This role requires ASE certifications, a valid driver's license, and flexibility to work days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check.
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, electrical, HVAC, and systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or employees.
• Mentor fellow technicians and assist in technical activities.
• Maintain organized shop and adhere to safety policies.
• Keep management informed of mechanical issues as they arise.
