Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. seeks an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, guiding a team to improve customer care and satisfaction. The role involves direct customer interaction and educating customers on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicle.

The candidate should have 3+ years of automotive diagnosis and repair experience, multiple ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license; pre-employment background checks apply. Availability for varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check completed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition and electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and colleagues as needed.
• Assist fellow technicians and maintain shop organization and cleanliness.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules; keep management informed of issues.
