Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems while leading a shop team to deliver superior customer service. You will educate customers on problems and proposed repairs, driving team performance and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on mechanical experience, ASE certifications, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends. A strong commitment to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 + A5, plus 2 from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Customer-focused attitude and motivation.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and A/C systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians to maintain shop performance.
• Stay updated on automotive technology through training sessions.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop environment.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety rules.
