Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a team, and deliver superior service by educating customers on problems and proposed solutions. Duties include diagnosing and repairing brakes, electrical, suspension, HVAC and engine systems; mentoring junior techs; keeping the shop organized, and upholding safety and company policies.

Requires 3+ years of mechanical diagnosis/repair, ASE certifications, Section 609 certification, valid driver's

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension and HVAC, and engine control systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Mentor fellow technicians and keep management informed of problems.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and adhere to company policies and safety rules.
