Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, using leadership to drive a team and boost customer care and satisfaction. You will interact directly with customers, educating them on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicle.

The role emphasizes mentoring, collaboration, and continuous learning to stay current with automotive technology while delivering superior service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and strong automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications are preferred; Section 609 certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications in brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical customers and staff.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in training sessions.
• Assist other technicians; inform management of repair issues.
• Maintain an organized, safe shop and adhere to company policies.
