Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, mentor the shop team, and deliver superior service to customers. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 plus 2 from listed options).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers as needed.
• Lead and mentor technicians to drive customer care and shop performance.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
• Maintain an organized, safe shop and adhere to company policies.
