Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a shop team, and deliver exceptional customer service.

You will explain diagnoses and proposed repairs to customers, mentor junior technicians, and maintain an organized, safe work area in a fast-paced automotive environment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of diagnostic experience, and ASE certifications (A4, A5 preferred).

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4/A5 plus 2 from listed options)
• Section 609 certification required
• State Inspection license if applicable
• High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude
• Valid driver’s license
• Background check completed
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brakes, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, A/C and computer systems
• Perform duties of lower technician levels
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques via formal training
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur
• Maintain an organized and neat shop
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules
