Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a shop team, and educate customers on repairs. The role emphasizes mentoring, teamwork, and delivering superior service while staying current with evolving automotive technology.

Requires 3+ years of diagnostic and repair experience, ASE certifications (4+) preferred, and a valid driver's license. The job includes day/night/weekend availability and a strong customer-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• High level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers when required.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians and keep management aware of repair problems.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and adhere to safety/environmental rules.
