Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support daily operations and lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You will help deliver a friendly customer experience and work closely with the Shop Manager to keep the shop safe, efficient, and running smoothly.

You’ll step in as Manager on Duty, conduct training, coach crew, manage inventory, and assist with reporting and follow-up. Automotive experience is valued but not required, and full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months of experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide direction and feedback to the team.
• Reliable transportation to and from work location.
• Ability to meet age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.

Responsibilities

• Complete Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed and coordinate workflow.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and address customer needs professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately while reinforcing safety and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying improvement opportunities and taking on leadership roles when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Perform Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities as required.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
