Job summary

K Group Companies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to lead installation teams, configure and program devices, and train customers at a basic operations level.

The role emphasizes FAT testing, system commissioning, and ongoing professional development in leadership and communication. Strong knowledge of nurse call, access control, and video surveillance is valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years with a previous construction trade.
• Advance knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP, etc.).
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Must have valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute Level 1 installer roles and responsibilities per documented standards.
• Demonstrate organizational skills in handling project and service tickets with timely updates.
• Understand project scopes and service expectations; take accountability for tasks.
• Lead tasks within the team’s capabilities; foster collaboration and productivity.
• Mentor Level 1 installers; solicit feedback for improvement.
• Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers, and customers as needed.
