Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems seeks a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and remove lane closures, directing traffic on state highways and job sites. You will handle MOT/TMA vehicles, place signs, and maintain work zones while complying with safety rules and company policies.

Requires 1–3 years of traffic control experience, valid CDL/driver's license, background and drug testing clearance, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds. Traveling statewide with occasional nights is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and 2,000 field hours in traffic control.
• Background check and motor vehicle records check required.
• Must pass a drug test and meet DOT requirements.
• Ability to read plans and follow traffic control plans.
• Knowled ge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations.
• Wear safety equipment and follow safety rules.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds and operate various vehicles.
• ATSSA TCT intermediate training completed.
• Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends.
• Rotating on-call schedule availability.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift for proper item placement.
• Collect and load traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts and supports.
• Perform shop work and general maintenance of equipment.
• Follow all safety rules and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
