Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures while ensuring worker safety on state highways and roadways. The role involves directing traffic for crews and working independently or with a crew, with responsibilities for delivering and returning safety products to job sites.

Candidates should have 1-3 years in traffic control, 2000 field hours, a valid license, pass background and drug tests, and be willing to travel statewide,

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• 1–3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear safety equipment (boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, vest).
• Must read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone to ensure items remain in place.
• Collect and load traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, and supports.
• Perform shop maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Follow all safety rules and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
