Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures and ensure safety on the job. You will work on state highways and roadways, redirecting traffic for crews and delivering safety products.

The role involves operating company trucks, MDT/TMA vehicles, setting up signs, cones, and safety devices, and traveling statewide with occasional nights and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• 1–3 years of experience and 2,000 in field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone to ensure items remain in place.
• Collect and load traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
