Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required per CLIA rules.
• Two years of direct clinical lab experience optional for some levels.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests.
• Notes abnormal results and informs supervisor.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Performs QC/QA logging and monitors QC trends.
• Troubleshoots testing problems using defined guidelines.
• Participates in regulatory inspections.
• Orders supplies and assists in training staff.
• Acts as liaison with internal and external customers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry

Associate’s degree in lab science

60 credit hours in science courses

CLIA-qualified prior to 1992
