Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking qualified Laboratory Scientists at multiple levels for positions across New Mexico. The role involves performing waived to high complexity tests, equipment maintenance, QoC/QC data collection, and collaboration with clinicians and staff.

Training of new staff and participation in POCT oversight may be required. Diverse degree pathways are accepted under CLIA regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications per CLIA regulations.
• No experience required for Laboratory Scientist I.
• Multiple pathways to meet qualification requirements (degrees or equivalent training).
• Immunization and regulatory compliance are noted in department details.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Run quality control testing and document results.
• Assist with training and act as liaison with staff and clients.
• Participate in POCT oversight and specimen collection when needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science

Associate’s degree in laboratory science (biology or chemistry) or medical laboratory technology

Education and training equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science

Qualified as a technologist under CLIA regulations on or before February 28, 1992
