Job summary

The Yay Company in Bryan is seeking a Kitchen & Service Assistant to keep the café stocked and support the Lead Cook with prep and production. You will label, stage, and pack items for distribution and may coordinate spoke school deliveries.

You’ll be on-site during lunch service, interacting with students, ensuring accuracy, warmth, and speed. This is a hands-on role with growth opportunities as we expand into new markets.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen, café, or food service environment.
• Strong attention to labeling, staging, and portioning accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Cook with mise en place, prep, and production.
• Label every item leaving the kitchen and stage by destination.
• Pack and deliver spoke school orders when scheduled, ensuring correct quantities and temperatures.
• Stock the grab‑and‑go fridge and pantry; support service operations.
• Clean as you go and participate in end‑of‑shift kitchen breakdown.
