Job summary

The Yay Company is seeking a Kitchen & Service Assistant to keep the kitchen running and the café stocked. You will support the Lead Cook with prep and production, label and stage items for distribution, and be the face of Yay during lunch service and grab-and-go.

If needed, you may pack deliveries to spoke schools and handle route delivery. You will report to your Kitchen Manager and Lead Cook during production.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, cafe, or food service with fast pace.
• Strong attention to detail in labeling, staging, and portioning.
• People-first mindset and friendly with students.
• Reliable, self-directed, and proactive.
• Willing to drive for spoke school deliveries if required.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Cook with prep and production tasks.
• Label items and stage for distribution with accuracy.
• Pack and deliver meals to spoke schools when scheduled.
• Distribute pre-ordered lunches on site and at spoke schools.
• Maintain grab-and-go fridge and cafe stock during service.
• Clean as you go and assist with end-of-shift breakdown.
