Job summary

The Yay Company (Chapin School) is seeking a Kitchen & Service Assistant to keep the kitchen running during lunch service and grab-and-go. You will support the Lead Cook with prep, labeling, and packaging for distribution, and may assist with spoke-school deliveries, ensuring accuracy and timely service.

This hands-on role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a cheerful, student-facing presence. You will work on-site in Princeton, with opportunities to grow as the company expands into

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen, café, or food service environment.
• Strong attention to labeling, staging, and portioning accuracy.
• Ability to interact warmly with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Cook with mise en place, prep, and portioning.
• Label and stage items for distribution, ensure accuracy.
• Pack and deliver spoke school orders if required, maintain temperature standards.
• Assist with grab-and-go service and checkout, keep shelves stocked.
• Clean as you go and participate in end-of-shift breakdown.
