Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning and more personalized instruction. We seek a Literacy Program Coordinator to design and deliver K-3 reading workshops, leveraging AI-adaptive data to tailor lessons and drive measurable gains across phonics, fluency, and comprehension.

You will lead small-group sessions, monitor progress weekly, and elevate instruction through real-time data insights while partnering with campuses nationwide.

Qualifications

• Structured-literacy certification OR a Master’s degree in reading instruction.
• Bachelor’s degree + 2+ years of full-time K-3 structured reading instruction in the last 5 years, using systematic phonics or structured literacy.
• Ability to design your own reading lessons and articulate what you teach and how, without relying on a published program.
• Willingness to work in person full-time at an Alpha campus: Beverly Hills, CA; La Jolla (San Diego), CA; Malibu, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Seattle, WA; Greenwich, CT; Boston, MA; or New York City, NY (relocation support provided)
• Willingness to work with all K-3 students and integrate AI and adaptive-learning tools into daily instruction as those tools develop
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Deliver measurable K-3 reading gains across phonics, fluency, and comprehension in a campus community where outcomes are assessed weekly.
• Create small-group K-3 reading workshops using live adaptive-app data, rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent)
• Lead daily motivation sessions that drive 100% of your students toward their weekly app goals using Alpha's motivational model (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
• Analyzing AI-generated performance data (fluency curves, decoding accuracy, comprehension signal) to modify instruction mid-day, not only during pre-planning
• Conducting running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments to generate gains visible in the weekly campus data review
