Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Youth Development Coach to guide K-3 students through app-based literacy learning on-site at a campus. You will diagnose reading gaps, design targeted sequences, and support students from launch to close, ensuring daily goals are met.

You'll work 5 days a week with relocation support, bringing 3+ years with children and reading instruction experience. Competitive compensation is offered in a full-time US role.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in relevant settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3 in the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, RGR) or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree required; teaching certificate not required.
• Comfortable guiding students through app-based learning 90% of the day and reading sessions 10%.

Responsibilities

• Coach students through app-based core learning; identify gaps and unblock progress.
• Run short structured-literacy sessions with 2–4 students; diagnose gaps and teach sequences.
• Lead morning launch, workshops, and check-chart activities for K-3 students.
• Drive weekly app goals using currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing; create plans for frustrated students.
