Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning and stronger mentorship. This Learning Coach role focuses on guiding K-3 students through app-based core literacy, diagnosing gaps, and building targeted micro-lessons.

You’ll stay with students from launch to closing, driving progress with data and a hands-on approach. The position is full-time, on-site at a campus, with relocation support and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years directly with children ages 4-9: teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3, within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar; or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject. A teaching certificate is not required.

Responsibilities

• Coach K-3 students to daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Run short structured-literacy sessions for 2-4 students with diagnostic sequencing.
• Lead morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Guide students toward weekly app goals using leaderboards and gamification.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing with a plan for frustrated learners.
