Are you the one at your school who ends up planning the staff development days? Then you already know the difference between a PD day teachers sit through and one they use the next morning. We're looking for educators in Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Cicero, and Naperville to deliver the second kind.
Our trainers lead staff development sessions on classroom management for K-12 schools, on site or over video. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness started in 1993, and more than 400,000 educators across all 50 states have been through our training since then.
Here are the details. This is 1099 contract work with no guaranteed hours, and the number of trainings varies from one year to the next. Trainers typically make $1,000 or more for each training day, paid on Fridays.
Schools mostly come through your own connections, using the outreach method taught in certification. Your National Director then writes the contract and works out the terms with the school. You aren't limited to a territory. Take trainings in your own district, in the suburbs, or in any state.
Before training schools, every trainer completes our Weekend Certification. It's virtual: three days and 36 hours, spread over two weekends, with Content Mastery the first weekend and High-Impact Facilitation the second. You can earn 4 graduate credits for it through UMass Global, and you get an orientation, the materials, and continuing support.
Current and former K-12 educators fit here: classroom teachers, instructional coaches, counselors, deans, and principals. Most of our trainers fit it around a full-time job, on evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers. Students can apply if they plan to complete certification.
