Center for Teacher Effectiveness is seeking experienced educators to train fellow teachers in classroom management across Los Angeles County, including Long Beach and Pasadena. Trainers work as 1099 independent contractors, delivering sessions in person or virtually, with pay typically around $1,000 per training day and paid every Friday.
Training is self-sourced with no fixed territory. Certification is required first: virtual, 36 hours across three days on two weekends, with potential graduate
Picture a teacher in Long Beach or Pasadena who spends part of the summer, and a few Saturdays during the year, training other teachers on classroom management. That is what most of our trainers do, and we're looking for more of them across Los Angeles, Glendale, Torrance, and the rest of the county.
Our trainers deliver professional development to K-12 schools: full and half days on classroom management for teachers and staff, in person or virtually. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has run this training since 1993 and has reached more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states.
You'd work as a 1099 independent contractor. Hours are not guaranteed, and some years bring more trainings than others. A training day typically pays $1,000 or more, with pay going out every Friday.
Where do the trainings come from? Mostly from schools you reach yourself. Certification teaches you how to get in front of schools, and once a school says yes, your National Director writes up the agreement and negotiates it. We don't assign territories. Train in your own district, close by, or in another state if you like.
Certification comes first. It's virtual, 36 hours across three days on two weekends, and it can earn you 4 graduate credits through UMass Global. Orientation and training materials are part of it, and so is ongoing support.
We hire teachers, coaches, counselors, and principals, current and former, from every level of K-12. Most keep their school jobs and fit trainings into evenings, weekends, personal days, and the summer break. Students are welcome if they intend to finish certification.
