Center for Teacher Effectiveness in Jacksonville, FL seeks Professional Development Trainers with a flexible schedule to deliver classroom management trainings to K-12 staff, on-site or via video.
Trainers work as independent contractors (1099) with no guaranteed hours, typically earning around $1,000 per training day and getting paid every Friday. Certification requires two weekends and three days of training, with support provided after certification.
You pick the dates. That's the short version of how our trainers work, and it's why so many of them are teachers who still have a full school year to get through. We're adding trainers in Jacksonville, Orange Park, Jacksonville Beach, St. Augustine, and Fernandina Beach.
The work is classroom management professional development for K-12 schools. You present to a school's teachers and staff, sometimes in their building and sometimes over video. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has done this since 1993, and over 400,000 educators in all 50 states have come through our trainings.
Trainers are 1099 independent contractors. Nothing about the hours is guaranteed, and the number of trainings in a given year can swing quite a bit. A typical training day pays $1,000 or more, and payment arrives every Friday.
You'll line up most of your own trainings by reaching out to schools, and certification teaches you how to do it. Once a school says yes, your National Director handles the contract and the negotiating. Nobody gets a territory, so a school two blocks away and one three states over are both fair game.
Getting started means completing our Weekend Certification online. It's three days and 36 hours spread across two weekends, and UMass Global offers 4 graduate credits for it. New trainers also get an orientation, the materials they present from, and support that keeps going after certification.
We're looking for current and former K-12 teachers, along with coaches, counselors, and principals. Evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers are when most of our trainers do the work. Students may apply as long as they intend to complete certification.
