Center for Teacher Effectiveness in San Diego is seeking K-12 PD specialists to deliver classroom management professional development to teachers and staff at schools or online. You will work across San Diego County including Chula Vista, Escondido, Oceanside, and El Cajon.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role with variable hours; typical pay is $1,000 or more per training day, paid each Friday. You'll arrange trainings by contacting schools directly, with no territorial limits.
If you already run PD for your building or your district, this role lets you take that work to other schools. We're looking for coaches, teacher leaders, and administrators in San Diego, Chula Vista, Escondido, Oceanside, and El Cajon.
You'd deliver classroom management professional development to K-12 teachers and staff, in person at schools or virtually. Since 1993 the Center for Teacher Effectiveness has trained more than 400,000 teachers and staff in all 50 states.
A few things to know up front. This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Hours are not guaranteed, and how often you train will vary. Typical pay is $1,000 or more per training day, paid each Friday.
Most of your trainings will come from schools you contact yourself, using the outreach approach taught in certification. Contracts are written by your National Director, who also handles negotiation. You won't be limited to a territory: train in your own district, nearby, or in any state.
The work starts with certification, done virtually over two weekends (three days, 36 hours). It's eligible for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and you receive the training materials and an orientation, with support that continues afterward.
Current and former K-12 teachers are a natural fit, and so are coaches, counselors, and principals. Most of our trainers keep working in schools, so trainings land on evenings, weekends, personal days, and the summer months. Students who plan to complete certification can apply, too.
