Cengage is seeking a field-based sales professional to engage with K-12 districts, presenting digital product solutions and driving revenue growth across assigned territories. This role partners with district decision-makers to expand usage of Cengage resources and improve student outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, a track record of meeting sales goals, and the ability to diagnose needs and tailor solutions that align with state and district objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of curriculum needs for K-12 teachers and librarians.
• Proven record of consistent sales and goal achievement performance.
• Focused on diagnosing needs before pitching solutions.
• Proposes personalized, relevant solutions based on district or classroom challenges.
• Ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain effective working relationships with customers, internal business partners, colleagues, and management.
• Able to articulate how the solution complements core curriculum and improves outcomes.
• Proactively builds targeted lead generation strategies.
• Prioritizes territory activity to balance new business development with existing account growth.
• Able to align product offerings with state or district learning objectives.
• Comfortable discussing instructional strategies and educational trends with educators and administrators.
• Maintain a home office and hours aligned with school schedules.

Responsibilities

• Meet with prospective customers to explore and present digital product solutions in the K12 market.
• Achieve and exceed the sales revenue goal in assigned sales and operational expense budgets.
• Partner with the highest level of decision-makers within assigned districts to present broad Cengage solutions, including supplemental and library resources, to increase student achievement.
• Seek new solutions opportunities for growth, developing the market share in the sales territory.
• Participate in network building opportunities within the territory, including conferences, group presentations, and industry functions.
